An alumni and now a teacher at the Emile Cohl School, Matthieu Ferrand started his career as an illustrator and comic book author before making the choice to fully devote himself to painting. This transition added a new dimension to his career, allowing him to deepen his artistic expression and explore new creative horizons.

His influences are diverse, ranging from Lubin Baugin to Edward Hopper and the luminous canvases of Joaquín Sorolla.

Beyond capturing nature, Matthieu paints his loved ones - family, friends, children... With subtlety, he captures these fleeting moments, reminding everyone of the passage of time. Through his art, he invites each one to meditate on the transience of life and savor precious moments.
